NEW FOR 2010 – PLAYER AGREEMENTS
We have attached the revised and expanded Selection Policy, and also a new initiative – a Player Agreement.
Your Executive has worked hard on these 2 documents over summer. The Selection Policy is now clearer and more detailed, especially with respect to what is required from players in our top grades.
The need for a Player Agreement has arisen as we have seen commitment levels falling over the past few seasons. We believe that 85% of you are still doing the right thing by your team mates and the club, but as hockey is a team game, if there are one or two players in a team who are not as committed as the rest, this can dramatically affect results.
The attached Player Agreement sets out the basic fundamentals of what we expect from EVERY player in EVERY team. Individuals will then sit down with their team, and coach, to discuss specific goals and expectations for that team. In this way, every player group will set their own commitment levels that each individual can agree on. The forms are to be signed and returned to your team manager, before the start of competition games. We feel that with everyone showing increased commitment across the club, we can achieve improvement as individuals, within our team structure, and across the Club as a whole.
If you have any feedback on this new initiative, please feel free to discuss with an Executive member at the upcoming training and trials sessions.
