UTS has overcome its 2007 grand final hoodoo, winning 3 indoor hockey grand finals earlier this week. In a stunning effort, 6 of our 7 teams reached the finals, with 4 teams going on to reach the premiership decider.

A great weekend of finals hockey saw 8 UTS teams competing across the various grades in Sydney. Whilst 2 teams have now been eliminated, we still have 6 squads heading for Finals glory!!!

With the regular season over, we can happily report that a record number of teams have reached the finals!!

In order to ensure things run smoothly next year we are trying get things organised a little earlier....

The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) Hockey Club are calling for expressions of interest for the positions of Mens & Womens Coaches for the 2006 season.

What a weekend for UTS Hockey Club! Premiership victories for our 4 grand final teams!! Congratulations to all players and coaches, and a huge thankyou to the large number of supporters that cheered us on to victory!!

Round 9 saw UTS defeating Norwest Strikers marking the third win on the trot, the first time since anyone can remember that 3’s have nailed three in a row.

Saturday May 14 sees traditional rivals UTS play Briars at Cintra Park, with our womens 1st grade team joining our mens Premier A grade teams in the battle for the Streeter-Robinson Cup. This will be a great opportunity to support both our mens and womens 1st grade teams.

On Thursday, 28 April 2005, the National Union of Students will be conducting the National Day of Action (NDA) at campuses across the country. This is a response to VSU legislation tabled by the Federal Minister of Education, Science & Training.

Just a quick email to update you on anything (and to try and help me get over jet lag by staying up longer).

UTS student and club member Rebecca Sanders has just been selected to represent Australia at the Champions Trophy in Argentina this November...

Belated congratulations to Fiona and Barry Telfer, on the birth of Joel Bronson Telfer. Not to be outdone, Carol and Lyle Chiu Chong gave birth to Tayla Louise on Friday Sep 17, and Nicole and John Bourd gave birth to Alyssa Jade on September 27!

The Aus-East Uni Games for 2004 came to an end in Wollongong last Thursday, with the UTS Mens and Womens teams BOTH winning SILVER medals after a fantastic week of hockey. This is by far our best ever combined result at Uni Games, with both teams now qualifying for the Australian University Games in Perth this September....

We have managed to secure a limited number of UTS tracksuit tops. Cost is $50 for these fully-lined jackets, with hood (hidden in collar). Only available now in sizes M and L (S has sold out). To order, please contact Zorba via president@utshockey.org.

Club Member and dual Olympic Gold Medal Winner Lisa Carruthers had the honour of carrying the Olympic Flame on its way to Athens.

The Arrive Alive Easter University Games for 2004 are being held in Wollongong from Sunday July 11 to Thursday July 15, and its time to get organised!!

Well done to our mens Uni Games team, that proudly flew the UTS flag at last week's Australian University Games held in Newcastle...

It was so close for our womens 1st Grade team in the MetroLeague Div 1 Grand Final for 2003....

At the 2003 Eastern Uni games at Coffs Harbour, the girls came in tenth - the jinx unfortunately continuing again with the team unsuccessful in gaining a place at the AUG’s. Despite this, there were shenanigans, mischief and sporting festivities a plenty during the week....

Matthew Smith, a 150 game veteran of the Australian Men's Hockey team, The Kookuburras, has signed to play for UTS for the next 3 years.

Congratulations to Scott McGlin, mens 1st grade goal keeper, who has been selected to play in the U21 Australian Indoor side which will be touring New Zealand at the end of the year.

The UTS Mens B2 Indoor team completed another undefeated season with a solid 4-1 victory over rivals Campus, in the Final of the Sydney Indoor B2 competition.

A stupid tackle by an even stupider UNSW player in last Sunday's 1st grade trial, has put Dan "The Man" Jarosch in a cast for 6 weeks.

The winter hockey season finally came to an end on Sunday, with 2 UTS teams playing in Grand Finals.

With a game based on all out attack, UTS Womens 1st grade dominated the grand final against Glebe, winning the Premiership 3-1.

On Sunday, UTS womens 1st grade won their Preliminary Final in MetroLeague 1 against Esquires. They will be taking on the undefeated Briars team this Sunday 21st September....

The mens team capped off a fun week by winning silver, with the women, unlucky in some close games, coming ninth
