2016 Juniors Wrap Up

By In News On 21st November 2016

2016 has been an extremely successful and enjoyable season for UTS juniors on the turf. For the first time we had 7 home games at PITCH 2 which
enabled us to run a canteen and play game junior and senior games back to back. Parents were wonderful manning the canteen and serving
our young players with plenty of sausages, drinks and lollies which helped to fund raise over $500. This year was the beginning of a new relationship
with Kings Langley Hockey Club that has turned out to be greatly beneficial for both clubs. With this relationship we have managed to field
a full field u11’s team and u13’s team. We also fielded 2 UTS u7’s and an u9s team. This is 2 more teams than last year. Our u7’s and u9’s enjoyed
playing 14 non-competitive round games. Our u11’s team and u13’s teams had an extremely successful season both finishing 3rd making the
semi-finals. What a great effort.

Junior Umpiring

We could not play without our umpires. Each club needs to supply their own umpires for junior games. So, support from our seniors for umpire
development would be fantastic. A special thank you to our umpires – Joel Telfer, Barry Telfer, Luke Watson, and Goat. From Kings Langley Mark Williamson, Elias Williamson and Andrew Phelps.
Finally…
Thank you to Gordana Makary (Canteen), Priscilla and Campbell Singer
(uniforms) and Mark Williamson (umpire coordinator).
